Petition to Empower Lawrence Voices
The Coalition for Collaborative Governance requests that the City of Lawrence
Collaboratively engage with our community to drive their decision-making.
Transparently provide complete and easy-to-access information.
Be accountable to our community in their actions and practices.
Specifically, we request that the City implement the following:
Community Engagement
begin their community engagement early in planning processes
engage in substantive discussions with our community
consistently and adequately respond to our questions and concerns
provide a variety of community engagement opportunities that are easy to participate in
provide unbiased surveys and perform accurate statistical analysis of survey data
Transparency
consistently provide information that is accurate, unbiased, complete, easy to access, easy to understand, timely, and relevant
accurately represent resident input to final decision-makers
Accountability
integrate resident input into their decisions
follow through with commitments to provide more information and develop solutions to residents’ concerns
create policies that standardize the City’s practices to meet the requests in this petition

If our City government knows that lots of people are reading the information we share, they’re far more likely to listen and take us seriously.
